We are based in Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, close to junction 18 of the M25 motorway.

When you are ready to book online simply click the book online tab above and follow the instructions.  Once you have booked you will need to email us a copy of the photo card of your full UK driving licence, and copies of two utility bills from within the last 3 months as proof of your address, which must match the address on your driving licence. You can scan all these documents or take photos using your phone and send them to [email protected].  You also need to create a licence ‘check code’ to share your driving licence information with us.

We ask for full payment at the time of booking; however for cancellations up to one week prior to your booking, we will refund you the full amount (minus Stripe’s handling fee of circa 2%). For cancellations within one week of your booking, we will refund you minus a £40 deposit.  For cancellations made within 24 hours of your booking we will refund 25% of the full hire charge only.  We will also take a hold of £500 on your credit card to cover the insurance excess or cost of uninsured damage to the horsebox in the event of an accident. This will be released when the horsebox is returned undamaged.

We ask that you return the horsebox with the same amount of fuel as when it was collected.

For full day hire you can collect the night before (time of collection is subject to availability) and return the day of hire.  For a morning half day hire you can collect the night before and it must be returned by midday. Half day afternoon hire can be collected from midday and returned the same evening.
For a full day hire, the lorry must be returned by 7pm.  A late penalty charge of £40 will be charged per hour after this time and a full day charged if the lorry is returned after 9pm. Any delays in returning the horsebox must be communicated with us.

The horsebox has a long wheel base so comfortably carries larger horses, however it has a payload of 1000 kg and is therefore capable of carrying one horse and one small pony or two ponies as long as the combined weight of the two horses, plus the driver, passengers and any equipment you have on the lorry does not exceed 1000 kg in total.

Payment is online via our booking system which uses Stripe.  We will contact you the day before hire to collect car details for the security deposit.

You need to be 23 years old or over and have held a full UK drivers licence for 2 years or more.

Cancellations must be in writing, email is sufficient. If the cancellation notice is received more than 7 days before the hire date, then a full refund is given. For cancellations within 7 days of the hire date, a deposit of £40 will be retained. For cancellations within 24 hours of hire, only 25% of the hire charge will be refunded.

In the event of a breakdown please contact us immediately and we will call Equine Rescue on your behalf.

The driver and two passengers.

The vehicle must be returned to us clean and swept out. There will be a cleaning charge of £50 if the horsebox is not cleaned out to our satisfaction.

Yes there is an allowance of 200 miles in any 24 hour period.  Any additional miles above this allowance will be charged at 45p per mile.
